Call Of Duty Mobile Could Block Players Using Smartphones From ROG, Vivo And Others

Following the ban of BGMI in India, a significant portion of its user base shifted to playing Call Of Duty Mobile on their mobile devices. However, it appears that players who use ASUS and Sony mobile phones are now facing bans of up to 10 years, as indicated in the notifications they received on their devices.

Users have reported unjustified bans on the official Discord server for Call of Duty Mobile and the r/CallofDutyMobile subreddit on Reddit. The game developer has not yet addressed these grievances.

It is not clear why the ban was introduced, whether it was a mistake or whether the developers did it on purpose. A common theory being talked about is the performance enhancing features that some gaming phones offer. ROG series phones feature AirTriggers, which allow users to use the sides of the phones as triggers, similar to a dedicated controller. Additionally, these phones also have an in-game crosshair overlay that most phones don’t offer. This may be the reason why some users have reported the game.

Gamers using Sony devices also reported the same issue.

A Reddit user expressed his displeasure: “No hackers. No emulator. No VPN. Sony Xperia 1 IV. Didn’t participate in discussions. Never turned on the microphone.”

One Reddit user noted that when he went to “Complain about a ban on the Activision website, it says my account is not banned.”

We can only confirm the ban applies to ASUS phones, including the ROG, as well as the Zenfone series of Android devices and Sony’s Xperia line.

In the last hour, we’ve also come across users who say they’ve got their accounts back and that this is just a bug that needs to be fixed. “My account is banned from Call of Duty: Mobile until 2033. May I know why? Please unban my account ASAP. My email id is: xxxx.xxx@gmail.com.” tweeted a COD player who goes by the name UserRoutVijay. He later confirmed that he got his account back, and the ban was lifted.
